All Devils Here Now is an unreleased song by the Mountain Goats. A version of it was posted on Twitter by John Darnielle on July 5, 2012 as a reward for reaching 40,000 followers. It can be downloaded for free at the official Mountain Goats website.

On humid evenings you have heard
Your neighbors making noises
That you wonder for awhile about
And then put off investigating
Shrieks and squeals and high-pitched whines and we
We are your neighbors

In hazy afternoons you've watched
Your neighbors come and go
And maybe stay away a day or two
And then return appearing worse for wear
Scratched up and hollow-eyed, you tried
Your best to ignore us

You see us at the grocery store
You wonder what we're shopping for
We lean against the Thermador
Eyes fixed firmly on the floor
Pomona's big as all outdoors and we
We are your neighbors

Comments by John Darnielle About this SongEdit

  • "OK well I hit 40 thousand followers a few weeks back but I was on tour & busy with stuff so this had to wait. This is from a while back: it shares psychic & geographic space with all the other stuff I was writing about in 2002 & 2003 so yeah, here's an old demo. the bugs you hear are actual Iowa bugs outside the window where I was recording.Enjoy! -- Twitter ([1], [2], [3])
