Furniture Huschle is the recording name of Joel Huschle, a longtime friend of John Darnielle and fixture in the Inland Empire music scene who is also the lead singer of the Claremont-based band Wckr Spgt. He also played in the band Furniture One with Peter Hughes.

The Mountain Goats have covered numerous Furniture Huschle songs in concert, including "Terror Song", "Furniture Store", and "Orange", as well as the Wckr Spgt songs "François Mitterrand" and "Fortune Came Today".

Huschle is the same Joel that is referenced on the cover of Full Force Galesburg, and again in the title of "Song for Mark and Joel". Huschle owned a rat named Mr. Do, who was depicted on the cover of Beautiful Rat Sunset by Mark Givens, also of Wckr Spgt. He also founded Car in Car Disco Product, the record label that released Taking the Dative as well as several Nothing Painted Blue albums. Furniture Huschle released a split single with the Mountain Goats in 1997 called Tropical Depression EP.
